Upon earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, Chuck Place received a camera from his parents as a graduation present. You have probably heard this kind of story before, but this simple gift quickly replaced all thoughts of graduate school as his fascination with photography deepened.

Place has spent the last twenty five years honing his ability to produce images with a strong sense of design and color, while working under diverse conditions. His clients have been equally far-ranging, from Time, National Geographic Traveler and Smithsonian Books to IBM, Timberland Clothes and Tamron Camera Lenses. His stock images have appeared in literally thousands of books, magazines, brochures, annual reports and advertisements. Place's award-winning imagery has also been recognized by the New York Art Directors Club, the Western Art Directors Club, Art Direction Magazine and Print's Regional Design Annual.

Based in Santa Barbara, California, just north of Los Angeles, Chuck Place continues to work for a wide range of clients, as well as serving as an ASMP Los Angeles board member and an instructor at Brooks Institute of Photography.
